TXP Technologies — Making Transformers Simple

Ask TXP Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

Not a Substitute for a Licensed Engineer

Ask TXP is an AI-powered educational and technical information tool. It is not a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), and nothing provided by Ask TXP constitutes a professional engineering opinion, stamped design, certification, inspection, approval, or substitute for review by a licensed engineer or other qualified professional familiar with your specific project.

Ask TXP provides general information based on transformer industry standards, technical references, industry practices, and its internal knowledge base. Information may be incomplete, outdated, incorrect, or not applicable to your particular equipment, installation, jurisdiction, or operating conditions.

Always independently verify safety-critical, code-related, regulatory, design, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair information before relying on it. Where appropriate, consult a licensed engineer, qualified electrician, technician, manufacturer, authority having jurisdiction, or other competent professional.

Ask TXP will attempt to identify uncertainty or missing information where possible, but responsibility for decisions made using information from Ask TXP remains with the user and the qualified professionals responsible for the actual equipment or project.

Safety and Hazard Messages

If a conversation describes a potentially hazardous condition — including arcing, smoke, fire, overheating, abnormal electrical conditions, damaged insulation, exposed energized parts, bypassed safety devices, or similar concerns — Ask TXP may display additional safety guidance and may flag the conversation for human review.

Where contact information is available, TXP Technologies may follow up regarding the reported condition.

Ask TXP is not a monitored 24/7 emergency service. Do not rely on Ask TXP or a possible follow-up when an immediate hazard exists. If there is an active electrical hazard, fire, smoke, risk of injury, or other emergency, keep personnel away from the equipment and contact the appropriate emergency services, facility personnel, utility, electrician, technician, or other qualified professional.

Question Logging for Quality Review

To help us review answer quality and identify gaps in our knowledge base, Ask TXP logs the text of each question you send and the reply it gave. The question log does not record your IP address, your email address or your account ID. Questions sent during one visit to the page are grouped under a random reference that starts fresh each time the page is loaded. The log also records whether a request appears to come from a web browser or an automated script; the browser's own description is not stored.

If you are not signed in, a logged question has no link to you. If you are signed in, your saved chat history includes a reference to each logged entry, so a logged question can be matched to your account for as long as both the chat and the logged entry exist. Deleting the chat, or your account, removes that link.

This is not the same as full anonymity. If your question itself includes identifying details — for example, a company name, a site location, or a person's name — that text is stored as written, since we have no way to know a question contains that information without reading it. Please avoid including anything you would not want retained in this form.

If you rate a reply with the thumbs-up/down buttons, or leave a written comment on it, your browser uses a reference to that logged entry so your vote or comment is attached to it. Written comments are stored with the logged question and can be up to 1,000 characters. If you are signed in, the reference is also saved with the reply in your chat history, so the rating buttons still work when you reopen the chat.

Information We Collect

You may use Ask TXP without creating an account.

When you use the service, TXP Technologies may process information necessary to operate and protect the service, including:

To protect the service from abuse and to control operating costs, Ask TXP applies usage limits based on the network (IP) address a request comes from. A short-lived counter tied to that address is held by our rate-limiting provider and expires automatically after a short period. This counter is separate from the question logging described above — it is not used to identify you, and it is not used to link your questions to each other or to you.

If you choose to log in, your account may be used to store and retrieve previous conversations and provide continuity between sessions.

Please avoid entering confidential, proprietary, legally privileged, personally sensitive, or safety-sensitive information unless it is necessary for your question and you are authorized to provide it.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

TXP Technologies does not sell personal information.

AI and Service Providers

Ask TXP uses third-party technology and service providers to operate the website and AI assistant. Information submitted through Ask TXP may therefore be processed by those providers as necessary to deliver the service.

TXP Technologies will select and configure service providers with appropriate privacy and security protections and will limit the information shared to what is reasonably necessary to operate the service.

Ask TXP relies on third-party providers for AI processing, website hosting, authentication, data storage, email delivery, and usage limiting. Information you submit — including the text of your questions, replies generated for you, and any account information — may therefore be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States, and may be subject to the laws of the countries where those providers operate, including lawful access requests by foreign authorities.

Additional detail about specific providers and their data-handling practices may be added to this policy as the platform is finalized.

Data Retention

Conversation and account information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain user history, address safety or security concerns, comply with legal obligations, and improve the reliability of Ask TXP.

Logged questions and replies, as described under Question Logging for Quality Review, are automatically deleted 90 days after they are recorded.

Conversations flagged as potentially hazardous are also sent to TXP Technologies by email so that a person can review them. The email contains your latest question and the reply as written, the time, a short automated note on why it was flagged, and, if you are signed in, the email address on your account. These emails stay in TXP Technologies' email records and are not covered by the 90-day deletion above.

Retention periods may vary depending on whether you use the service anonymously or through an account.

Where practical and legally permitted, users may request deletion of personal information associated with their account.

Accuracy of Standards and Regulatory Information

Ask TXP may reference engineering standards, codes, regulations, guides, and other technical publications.

Standards and regulatory requirements change over time. Ask TXP may not always have access to the latest edition, amendment, interpretation, local requirement, or project-specific specification.

Any answer involving code compliance, certification, regulatory requirements, or acceptance criteria should be independently verified against the current official source before being relied upon.

Intellectual Property and Standards

Ask TXP may summarize or reference copyrighted technical standards and publications for educational and informational purposes.

Ask TXP does not provide copies of licensed standards or reproduce substantial copyrighted portions of those documents. Users requiring the official wording of a standard should obtain the applicable publication from the issuing organization.

Cost

Ask TXP is currently free to use.

If TXP Technologies introduces paid products or professional services in the future, the availability or terms of those services will be identified separately. Use of the general Ask TXP chat service will not automatically enroll a user in a paid service.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as Ask TXP and TXP Technologies evolve.

The current version of the policy will be posted on this website, with the date it took effect shown at the top of this page. Continued use of Ask TXP after an updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Questions and Privacy Requests

If you have questions about this policy, your information, or the way Ask TXP operates, please contact TXP Technologies at txpengineer@gmail.com.
